We have been receiving several petitions from clients who want to find their birth certificates in Colombia in order to get Colombian passport and Colombian citizenship.
Some of the clients are people born before year 2000 which makes the search of the Colombian birth certificate difficult because those records in a high percentage are not digital and not recorded with the federal records office, making the search of Colombian birth certificate limited to a in person search in the offices of the city where client was born and may his Colombian birth certificate recorded.
Our office provides digital and on person search in old books and in the different offices that may have the birth certificate in Colombia such as notary, police inspector, county officer, office of local records, churches ( for people born before 1939) and old city birth certificate records.
We have found also that for clients and because it used to be done, being registered years later after they were born and for people born between 1940 and 1972 having their birth certificates registered with government after that time even decades later or never registered but having your Colombian baptized document which leads us to the process of registration.
