In the past year and keep growing up the number of new clients who have approached to my office regarding legal issues with escorts or common called in Colombia “ Prepagos”.
Usually the story is that client called a number in a website and asked for the sex service or met the girl online and asked about her fee. The prepago shows up at the designated place and have sex with client. After client pays what was agreed, the woman asks for more money. Because that wasn’t the deal client refuses to give her more and then the prepago threats to call the police. At the end this is what happens and the police starts mediating into the problem but first taking photo of passport of the client and his number.
We have seen strange situations that are now in charge of the prosecutor’s office in which we have the theory that police sometimes are involved with the prepagos and both starts asking money to client to avoid an arrest or to plant evidence saying that client was with minors (which is a serious crime here in Colombia and gives jail time and no benefits of parole) or put drugs at the scene.
These situations with the prepagos in Colombia make my clients nervous to leave Colombia (waiting an arrest at the airport) or returning back to Medellin and get arrested at airport.
