We have been receiving several petitions from clients who want to find their marriage certificate in Colombia in order to get Colombian passport, Colombia visa and /or Colombian citizenship or to proceed with a divorce.
Some of the clients are people who got married before year 2000 which makes the search of the Colombian marriage certificate difficult because those records in a high percentage are not digital and not recorded with the federal records office, making the search of Colombian marriage certificate limited to a in person search in the offices of the city where client was married and may his Colombian marriage certificate recorded.
Our office provides digital and on person search in old books and in the different offices that may have the marriage certificate in Colombia such as notary, county officer, office of local records, churches ( for people born before 1939) and old city certificate records.
We have also found out that clients who got married by Colombia catholic wedding never registered the marriage with the Colombia government, therefore in order to have legal effects, our office provides the service to register the Colombia catholic marriage record with the Colombia government and then obtaining you a certified and notarized copy of the Colombia marriage.
