We have been receiving several petitions from clients who want to find their relative death certificate in Colombia in order to get Colombian passport, Colombia visa and /or Colombian citizenship or to proceed with an estate.
Some of the clients are people who died before year 2000 which makes the search of the Colombian death certificate difficult because those records in a high percentage are not digital and not recorded in a 100% accuracy with the federal records office, making the search of Colombian death certificate limited to a in person search in the offices of the city where client{s relative died and may his Colombian death certificate recorded.
Our office provides digital and on person search in old books and in the different offices that may have the death certificate in Colombia such as notary, county officer, office of local records, churches ( for people{s death before 1972) and old city certificate records.
We have also found out that clients whose relative died before 1972 and specially before 1940 are recorded with catholic church but because there isn’t a centralized death certificate of catholic church, we provide the in person search service to look in every church of the city in which clients relative died and find out if the death certificate is there.
If you have further question, please contact me.
